Metro Assist

Metro Assist is a community based, not-for-profit organisation providing welfare and support services to communities in the Bankstown, Canterbury, Marrickville and Inner West areas of Sydney.

We provide a range of community services, including migrant settlement, family support and early intervention, emergency relief, tenancy services and community development.

Our experienced bilingual caseworkers provide direct casework support and referrals to meet clients' needs around key settlement factors such as income support, housing, education and employment, and other support social needs. Our services are free and confidential.

We work closely with new and emerging communities to help them become established and self-sustaining. This involves engaging with community representatives in learning about government, institutions, forming associations, governance and developing ideas into projects to benefit their communities.

We also deliver activities and programs geared towards the needs of young people, women and men with the view of broadening their engagement, learning and participation in the community. Our citizenship preparation course helps candidates understand their rights and responsibilities, and prepares them for the Citizenship Test.
