Dance group rehearsing

For many young people today, meeting new people is a challenging task. While online platforms have created new spaces for people to connect, they often aren't the same as meeting in person.

The African Young Women’s Dance Group provides an opportunity for young African women in the area to connect every week and share their traditions and ideas, as well as discuss important personal and community issues and support each other. Most of the women are Congolese, aged 12-25, and speak Swahili and Kinyamulenge. They have performed at many of local events, showcasing their incredible talents and culture.
