The NSP Youth Workers Network organised a number of fun activities with support from SSI’s HSP team at the Guildford Soccer and Recreation Club in Guildford Park to celebrate Youth Week.
Young people from Afghanistan, Myanmar, Pakistan, Nepal, Iraq, South Sudan and Syria came together to enjoy cultural performances including Afghan dance and African drumming.
They also learned about the youth services offered in the NSP and about their options for different education pathways with a Multicultural Officer from TAFE NSW.
In addition, coaches from Football NSW and Cricket NSW volunteered their time to engage with clients in sports and physical activity. The NSP was grateful for the donation of football shoes and gear from Collective Leisure and the Hakoah Football Club, which put a huge smile on people’s faces.
It was a great opportunity for the youth workers to come together and meet in person, and share resources and learning across the consortium.
